This weekend was sort of sad for DJ but very exciting for us as a family. This weekend we went car shopping. Not the most exciting thing to do but it's all worth it in the end. It was very hot and stressful. Saturday is was 101 degrees! I was sweating like a fat cow and couldn't keep drinking enough water. Unfortunately that meant I was finding myself in the bathroom what seemed like every 20 minutes.
DJ traded in his truck this weekend. This truck was his pride in joy, his baby, his dream truck. I felt very bad for him. He bought this truck two years ago while working for the railroad. He added the hydraulic running boards, a racing chip and gauges. When he bought the truck it already had a 6 inch lift on it and the huge tires. In his eyes this truck was basically perfect. He had all the toys he wanted: his dream truk and his dream bike. He still has the bike though so that's good. :) We had to take these pictures before we left the dealership.
We are both very excited about the new car. It is perfect for our soon-to-be family of four. (We can't forget about our puppy!). DJ was glad to trade in his truck for the Jeep. It is a 2008 but we bought it used. It was a demo car for the car shows so it only has 4,000 miles on it. It is also a flex fuel vehicle so we can use the e-85 fuel which is about $1.50 cheaper per gallon than regular gas right now. The Jeep is actually the only small SUV in it's class right now that you can put a carseat in the middle of the back seat. We both feel very good about having a safe car to drive around in with the baby. DJ and I will drive the Jeep whenever one of us takes the baby with us (mainly me because I'll be driving her to and from day care) and when we aren't in need of the back seat, we'll take my car. So even though we are going to miss the truck we are very happy to announce we have gotten a new car that works for the baby!
