Easter 2011

We had a great Easter this year. Taylor is old enough to understand dying Easter eggs and sort of understood the Easter Bunny. She said he was purple and wore Whinny the Pooh shoes.

We had a really fun time at the gymnastics Easter Egg Hunt.

I can't blame Taylor for being freaked out about this Easter Bunny. The costume is pretty old and scary looking. . .

When we got home the real fun was beginning. I think dying Easter eggs is one of my favorite Easter activities.

For Easter we made a Bunny Cake (Like this one Here). It didn't turn out as well as the one we made in Kansas did but maybe next year I will learn how my mom does it so well. I didn't even get any pictures of it either.

Taylor loved what the Easter Bunny left for her in her basket.

She got two pots so she can transfer her plants (more on that later), a shovel to help with her plants, new pj's and summer shorts, lots of candy, Mickey mouse stickers and a mickey mouse stepping stone for her garden.

The Easter Bunny even left her a basket at Grandma and Grandpa's house. . .

We hid 50 eggs outside but we only found 49 . . . oops. The weather wasn't very warm so we only hid eggs outside once. But when we got back inside we hid some more plastic eggs for Taylor to find. She had so much fun.

We hope everyone else had a great Easter!

Easter Egg Hunting

Easter was such a blast now that Taylor is old eough to join in all the fun. Taylor got to show off her new pretty Easter dress for everyone. And of course the Easter Bunny came. There was also a pink shovel and rake in her basket. Grandma and Grandpa also got her an Easter basket filled with clothes, a baseball and bat and more garden tools.
I had my camera out the majority of the day and Taylor was so excited to take her own picture. I just aimed and helped her push down the button. I love all the goofy faces she made for each picture. . .

It was really nice to have Aunt Lori and Uncle Sam in town . . .
Taylor loved the Easter Egg hunt too. She shook all the eggs and made sure she ate everything that was inside them. When she opened the one from Great Grandma she didn't care about the money that was inside. She threw the money into her basket and went in pursuit of an egg filled with candy.
She looked like this after eating all the chocolate she could get her hands on. . .
Love it!
The weather was so nice that Taylor even got some color on her cheeks. Only the first week in April and already we had to get out the sunscreen!
Hope everyone enjoyed Easter!

Dying Eggs

We had a very good Easter. I was so excited that Taylor was old enough to interact with everyone this year. Dying eggs was still a little tricky but fun. The Easter Egg hunt was the best though.

Friday night we dyed eggs. Taylor wanted to eat them all - even though they were still wet with dye. She cracked a few too. She was soo impatient!
We had to take her shirt off because I just knew she would have it all full of colors.
I finally got grandma to pose for a picture. . .
Everyone took turns wearing the bunny ears. . .

Some were more goofy than others. . .
We made some very pretty eggs. . .
I had to make an anniversary egg for me and DJ. Friday was our 5 year anniversary.
An of course, I had to show a certain little someone how cute I thought she was. . .
One day she will get sick of that so I have to sneak in as many kisses while I still can.

Easter

Happy Easter everyone. I know I am a few days behind but when you have a baby(ies) all of your life seems to be a few steps behind. Regardless, we had a blast! Saturday we dyed Easter eggs. Taylor got to help, even though her job was taste tester. . .
Sunday we celebrated Easter, DJ's grandpa's birthday and my birthday. It was fun. Taylor got three Easter baskets this year - one from mom and dad and one from both sets of grandparents. From my parents she got a t-shirt from Arizona, a bunny stuffed animal and a set of bunny booties and a hat. Too cute. From Grandma Carrie and Grandpa Paul she got some really cute outfits, a pair of Crocks, socks (to hide her smelly feet), and a blanket friend. I am not sure what it's really called but it's the head of a stuffed animal with a blanket for a body; doesn't sound too cute when I describe it but Taylor loves them!
From mom and dad she got 2 new outfits, 2 new sippy cups - she thinks she needs to drink out of adult glasses! -, a little bunny, and a turtle for the swimming pool this summer. She was so excited when she was opening her baskets because it was like she really knew what was going on!
She is way too cute. But it's late and I am a tired mommy! Good Night!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter Everyone! It snowed here so it won't be much of an Easter Egg Hunt outside but I'm sure we'll figure something out.

Yesterday I dyed Easter Eggs. I guess I'll never grow up! The other day I received an Easter Basket from my dad and step mom and suddenly got very sad after the excitement of receiving one. I sat on my couch and thought, "I'm going to be so sad when they realize I'm too old to get Easter Baskets and they stop sending them". I can't remember a year I didn't get an Easter Basket! I told DJ how I was feeling and he said, "Yeah. This will be your last year so enjoy it! And last Christmas, yeah, that was our last 'good' Christmas for getting exactly what we wanted". Oh, to have to grow up!

I hope everyone has a great Easter!
