New Years Eve was an absolute blast! DJ and I had a great time. We went out with Joel, his girlfriend Abbe and a bunch of their friends to a club downtown. DJ and I had not gone out like this since last New Years Eve. There was a cigar bar there and Joel taught me how to smoke a cigar. Needless to say the taste never leaves your mouth regardless of the number of times you brush your teeth. I haven't celebrated a New Year with Joel since we were in high school.
DJ and I met Abbe at Thanksgiving for a short time but I was really glad we got to hang out last night. She is awesome. She is such a fun person and I am very happy for Joel. I think she is the best fit for him and he couldn't find anyone better.
Because we were going to be out so late last night, Grandma Carrie got to have her very first sleep over with Taylor. Taylor did great and so did Grandma. . . Taylor's mom on the other hand was a different story. Don't get me wrong, I was thrilled to have a full night of sleep and a fun night out with DJ and my brothers but when we got home and I saw the pictures of Taylor throughout the house I just missed her. I cried. But it was great picking her up today. We cuddled and took a 2 hour nap together. And she is a Daddy's girl through and through. I am a Daddy's girl as well so it must run in our blood. Tonight she is hanging out with DJ watching football. That is one of her favorite things to do and I don't think anything could make DJ more happy. When she hears a football game on TV she will crane her neck, arch her back and do anything she can until she can watch the game. Let's just hope she becomes a K-State fan!
So far 2009 is off to a great start. . . and I plan to keep it that way.
