Football Sunday

Football Sunday is always a relaxing day in our house as it is. . . but with lil' Taylor Drew it was even more relaxing. In the morning I dressed her in her Colts gear to match her mom and we spent the day cuddling, eating and sleeping. It's crazy how everyone says all babies do are eat and sleep. But it turns out new moms do the same thing! (and new dads).

Everything is still going very well at home. She is eating a ton! In the hospital and the first few nights at home everything was a mess. Everytime I breastfed her she would latch on and eat just fine. But after breast feeding her she would scream and cry for 45 minutes to an hour. This was heart wrenching because there was nothing DJ or I could do for her. One night (another 1am feeding) we decided to just give her a bottle of formula and see if that changed anything. She loved it! I figured I would still be able to breast feed but it turns out I can't. I thought there might have been nipple confusion between me and the pacifier they gave her in the hospital so we even tried pumping and giving it to her in a bottle - still she screamed. I tried pumping again the next night (tried for 20 minutes) but nothing came. So even though that was a let down and it did hurt we're doing better. At least we have a happy baby and DJ and I can take turns now. :) She usually takes a bottle around 10pm, 1am, 4am and again around 7am. I don't mind only having to get out of bed twice a night. All in all life could not be better.
