Mexico - Day 2

It was so hard to sleep late in Mexico. Our room was great and the sun was so bright! The bed was actually very comfortable too.

DJ loved the mini bar. Usually it comes stocked with Corona but since he isn't a fan, housekeeping made a special trip to the bar every night to get him Negro Modelo. He was in heaven.

Day 2 we had to meet with the resorts Apple Vacations Rep. We looked into some excursions we could take but decided we needed to look around the resort some more first. The view from our room was amazing. We overlooked the adult pool and the marina. Our resort was sort of in it's own little community called Puerto Adventuras. DJ and I went touring it that morning. As we started walking DJ said he couldn't wait to see some of the little lizards like you find in Florida. Not even 3 minutes later we ran into this. . .
All I can say, is that is NOT a little lizard!

We walked over to the side of the marina that holds all the boats. . .
(more stories about this boat to come)
Inside the marina is a dolphin area. I wasn't interested in swimming with the dolphins but it was fun to watch them. . .

The entire area was just beautiful. . .

After exploring we went back to the resort to swim and hang out
at the beach. . .
This is when we learned that you look like the odd man out if you aren't holding an alcoholic drink by 10am. . .

This is the back side of the resort. Our room was on this side looking out at the water. The area covered by the white tents is the seafood restaurant.

This is the bar in the adult pool. Our room also overlooked this. I loved the tanning beds. DJ had some good conversations with the older gentleman in the picture. He and his wife were two rooms down from us. Very cute couple.
The bridge takes you to the other side of the adult pool and the seafood restaurant. . .

again, the adult pool. . .

Everything was just so pretty.

I think this is my favorite picture of DJ and I on the entire trip. . .

Our favorite bar was so relaxing. I loved the swings. DJ had a hard time prying me off of them. Who would want to leave when you had a view like this??

We ate dinner at the seafood restaurant. It was really good. . . considering I don't like seafood very much. I couldn't get over how pretty the view was though, especially after the sun set.

Our bottle of wine was from Wenti vinyards in Livermoore, CA. DJ's been to the vineyards and I have to say it is some of the best wine I've had.

Every night our resort put on some sort of entertainment. Since it was Thursday night, the kickoff to the NFL season, they had football on the beach. We loved this. The staff was dressed in football jerseys, the men in football gear. They served drinks, nachos, hot dogs and popcorn. It was a lot of fun. DJ was like a little kid. . . I think every man there was.

At half time we walked over to the bar with the intentions of returning to the game. We met a great group at the bar that was from Missouri. We spent the rest of the night talking, swinging on the bar swings and hanging out. It was a birthday for one of them so they turned the whole bar into a big party. Finally we made it back to our room and crashed. I had a blast!
