Halloween 2010

We had a very busy Halloween. At our house Halloween lasted a entire week. Between pumpkin patches, trick-or-treating at numerous places and activities with everyone there wasn't any free time.

Thursday we went trick-or-treating at DJ's grandpa's nursing home. All the elderly people were so cute! One woman was dressed up as a cheerleader. Afterwards we took Taylor to a kids Halloween Town. Taylor had so much fun because she could do everything and there weren't many people there. She got to walk through the haunted house and collect candy from people dressed up in different costumes. She liked them as long as they were giving her candy - other than that they freaked her out. She also got to play in a jumping castle when no one else was in there. Of course she didn't want to come out and DJ and I had to drag her out.

She also got to pick a pumpkin and got a jack-o-lantern spray painted on her hand (which eventually got spread across her chin and face).

When we got home we had to give her pumpkin a bath because it had been in the 'mud'. From that point on Taylor was obsessed with the idea of giving every pumpkin a bath.

On Saturday, after I got home from class, we went to the pumpkin patch with Uncle Joel. She was so excited. The farm that hosts the pumpkin patch is great. They have 4 corn mazes, jumping castles, horse drawn hay rides, and farm animals to check out. Taylor loved the animals the most.

 The piggies reminded us of Gabby because she lays the same way and is the same size as them

When Uncle Joel got there she was thrilled! Joel had to follow her everywhere and she kept yelling, " 'mere Uncle Joel for a minute". She wanted to show him everything! When we made it to the pumpkin patches she kept telling him, "Joel, I'm comin'!"

Saturday night we went to gymnastics for the annual Halloween Carnival. Taylor won 'funniest costume' for her age group and got a little trophy. She calls it her cup.

Sunday morning we got to bake Halloween cupcakes. She loved the sprinkles.

Grandpa also raked up a pile of leaves for her to play in. She didn't like them like we thought she would.

 If your trying to get a good family picture with a toddler, make sure it's while she is still in a good mood and willing to smile

We got to carve pumpkins that afternoon. Taylor liked it more than I thought she would. She didn't want to stop long enough to take pictures though. She demanded her own 'shovel' and kept snapping at everyone when we would try to stop her that she was busy 'stooping' (scooping) out the pumpkin seeds.

Sunday night the weather was great for trick-or-treating. She got to go with her good friend Emma.

 

The Dad's of our block got to go Trick-or-Drinking together. Every year the dad's get together, give each other a beer and there are a few houses on the street that give beer to the dad's when the kids stop for candy.

When you are still working on potty training there isn't enough time to remove a Halloween costume if someone says they need to go potty
