To The Ball Game. . .
Sunday afternoon DJ, Taylor and Jess (DJ's sister) went to the Colorado Rockie's Baseball game. It wasn't very good weather for a baseball game but we were excited either way. It was only about 50 degrees, we had to wear heavy jackets and cover up with blankets. I'd never been to a baseball game in the middle of May where they were serving hot chocolate.
This picture was taken before the game from our seats. DJ's dad gets free tickets every year and we get to pick at least one game to attend. These seats are amazing! Right behind third base in the second row. Almost close enough to reach out and touch a player :o) Thanks for the tickets Paul!
Taylor wanted to try taking some of the pictures too
This game was one for the records. Not for the game itself (the Rockie's lost) but the fun memories made while at the ball park. Taylor's first real baseball game. Last year she went for the fireworks show but never watched any of the game. She was very excited. DJ kept telling her we would catch a foul ball for her and we came very close . . . a little too close for my liking at least. One foul ball landed in the row behind us about 5 seats over. I ducked and covered Taylor and my heart was racing. I didn't want either of us being hit with a ball. Taylor did get a baseball to take home though. One of the guys working the line gave her a ball that the team was using between innings.
Taylor fell asleep during the 5th inning and slept through every one's cheering when Todd Helton hit his 6th Home Run of the season. We tried to get Taylor to say some of the players names. It was so cute - Todd Helton (one of our favorites) is Todd Helpin. Troy Tulowitzki was either just 'Tulo' or Tulowifki.
During the 7th Inning stretch Taylor was standing on my lap dancing and they put her on the Jumbo tron. It was so funny.
There's nothing like baseball season . . . even if it is cold.
